With the vote this past weekend, it's finally official that my husband will accept his first call as pastor... thus making me a "Pastor's Wife"... Most definitely a role I never, ever saw myself fulfilling. 10 years ago, I would have laughed in your face if you had told me I'd be a pastor's wife.
I'm really excited about the church we will become a part of, and the location of the church, and especially the people involved. It's all a little overwhelming right now. It's still sinking in that this is, in fact, happening.
As with everything in life, there are going to be things that just... don't quite work. Right now, I'm not seeing those... with the exception of maybe too many people expecting me to join them in too many social events, and I'm a bit of an introvert. Sometimes I just want to hole up in my room with a book and avoid people.
I hope the people of the congregation can accept that and realize that if I say "no" to one outing, it's not a rejection of them, but more a rejection of socialization in general, and to ask again later because "no" right now doesn't mean "no" forever.
Anyway, today is a day for us to celebrate this new chapter coming up for us, and today I am thrilled and very excited about what's to come.
